This circular index machine was introduced in 1910 by the Ingersoll company in New York. It is said to have been marketed in Europe as the Trebla. The odd thing about the machine shown here is that the case calls it The New American.
This Darling was the most luxurious version of several models that Ingersoll produced. The character was selected by turning the index pointer. Printing was done by pushing the entire contraption down onto the platen.
